The idyllic castle garden in the centre of the old city is a remarkable cultural monument. At the beginning of the 17th century Count Albrecht I. von Solms planned a terraced garden. In about 1800 it was remodelled in the style of a landscape garden, thus becoming part of the town rather than the castle. With its mix of local as well as exotic trees, the park offers an attractive setting for various cultural events. This pleasant garden spreads over several terraces and is well worth exploring.
